Jennifer Weiler, MEd, is an experienced LINC and ESL literacy instructor with a passion for designing lessons that build learners’ confidence and help develop learners’ literacy concepts, skills, and strategies. She currently works in LINC at Immigrants Working Centre in Hamilton and as a TESOL trainer at Peel District School Board.

Brett Basbaum is an ESL instructor currently working in the ESL Learning Centre at the Hamilton Public Library. She has taught LINC for several years as well as international students in the Summer ESL program at McMaster University. Last year she also had the amazing opportunity to teach in Dalian, China.

Technology in ESL Classrooms by Frank Bieri
Frank Bieri, Acting Associate Dean, School of English Language Studies at Niagara College, is co-Author of Have Your Say 3: Listening and Speaking Skills and Practice from Oxford University Press and a long term faculty member in the School of English Studies. He holds a Masters degree in Education, and throughout his teaching career, has developed an educational philosophy that is guided by people’s desire to learn. Frank’s specific areas of interest include classroom design innovations, engagement technology, learning enhancement software, and new EdTech initiatives. Heather Cordeiro is an EAP professor in the School of English Language Studies at Niagara College. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in both English and History, a TESL Diploma and a Master of Education degree focused on Distance Education. Heather is experienced in web-based technologies and computer-assisted language learning programs and has most recently been researching the areas of assistive technologies, universal design and differentiated learning in order to support differently abled students in the ESL classroom. James Papple, Speaking Coordinator in ESL Services, Brock University. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in both Linguistics and Psychology and a Master’s degree in TESL. He was a contributing author to the Culture Link Series from Oxford University Press. Over the last decade, Jim has volunteered with TESL Niagara and has been serving as a member of the TESL Ontario board for 5 years. His research interests include experiential learning, vocabulary acquisition, translingualism, and blended classrooms. Impact and Influence: The ESL Instructor’s Culture by Adrianna Semerjian. Adrianna Semerjian recently completed her Masters of Education in TESL and Instructional Leadership. Her research interests include cultural awareness and the role of the instructor’s culture on teaching and learning. Adrianna has taught EFL in South Korea, college preparation, and CLB Levels 1-8. She has also volunteered with TESL Niagara and made numerous conference presentations. Adrianna currently teaches LINC with the Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board.
